The food here was delicious and they cook it fresh. The portion sizes are very generous and I love how cheesy their pastas are, and the pastas are not overly heavy on the sauce. So delicious. Their entrees come with a freshly chopped salad and also bread too. So good! And their ice cream is also so fresh, I could taste the fresh pistachios inside and not overly sweet. The cashier was welcoming. Plenty of seating inside too. There's accessible parking and ramp.
Overview
Walking into De Marcos Italian Restaurant In Globe feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot where the staff already knows what youβre craving. I stopped by on a road trip through eastern Arizona and didnβt expect to find such a comforting Italian-American diner tucked along 1103 N Broad St, Globe, AZ 85501, United States. The building itself is modest, but the aroma of simmering tomato sauce and baked cheese hits you before you even reach the door, and that sets the tone for the entire experience.
I ordered the chicken parmesan on my first visit, partly because itβs a classic and partly because locals at the next table recommended it without hesitation. The process behind it is clearly practiced: thinly breaded chicken, fried until golden, then layered with marinara that tastes slow-cooked rather than poured from a jar. According to food science research published by the USDA, proper frying temperature is key to locking in moisture while keeping breading crisp, and you can tell the kitchen here understands that balance. The pasta underneath was cooked al dente, which is something even bigger Italian restaurants sometimes miss.
The menu is broad enough to keep regulars interested but focused enough to stay consistent. Youβll see staples like lasagna, baked ziti, and spaghetti with meat sauce, alongside pizzas that lean toward hearty, diner-style pies rather than ultra-thin Neapolitan crusts. On a second visit, I tried the pepperoni pizza, and it arrived bubbling hot with a slightly chewy crust that held up well under generous toppings. That kind of consistency matters; research from Cornell Universityβs Food and Brand Lab shows that diners rate restaurants higher when dishes meet expectations repeatedly, not just once.
What really stands out is how the restaurant fits into Globeβs local dining scene. Many reviews mention family dinners, post-game meals, and casual lunches, which lines up with what I saw during both visits. At noon, the place fills with workers grabbing quick slices and pasta plates, while evenings bring in families sharing large pizzas. Online reviews across multiple platforms consistently highlight friendly service and generous portions, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a loyal following over the years.
From an experience standpoint, the staff deserves special mention. On my last visit, I asked about modifying a dish to avoid dairy, and the server walked me through exactly which sauces were made in-house and which could be adjusted. That level of transparency builds trust, especially for diners with dietary concerns. The FDA emphasizes clear communication about ingredients as a best practice for food service establishments, and itβs reassuring to see that applied in a small-town diner setting.
Location also plays a role in its appeal. Being right on Broad Street makes it easy to find, whether youβre a local or just passing through Globe. Parking is straightforward, and the casual atmosphere means you donβt feel rushed, even when the dining room is busy. There are limits, of course; if youβre searching for upscale Italian fine dining or experimental cuisine, this may not be the place. The focus here is comfort food done well, not culinary reinvention.
Overall, the combination of a reliable menu, approachable service, and a clear understanding of what the community wants is what keeps people coming back. The restaurant doesnβt try to be anything itβs not, and that honesty comes through in every plate served and every interaction at the table.

I was in town for part of the day from Phoenix and trying to figure out what to eat we drove by this place coming into town and I looked it up on Google maps. People that work in here are very nice friendly helpful. I ordered the lasagna and in talking with the server she mentioned the Alfredo sauce was really good. So I asked if I could get a cup of it on the side and poured it on my lasagna it was really good. They make their lasagna from scratch and you can tell. That bread is fresh I almost ordered extra but I was pretty full. The Italian salad was good. And topped it off with a pistachio ice cream with a sugar cone. As we were sitting there eating people were coming in for pizza and getting it to go and several people came in and it was around 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. We're definitely will stop in here again next time I come in town. Thank you guys.
I have one word (impressed) We were greeted at the door. We were asked to sit anywhere. The place was a little outdated, but clean. Our waitress was kind and attentive to our needs, and most importantly the pizza we ordered was delicious. We ordered the De Marcos specialty pizza crispy crust and it was perfect. We learned that they have two other locations in Superior and in Tucson. We will definitely be back I'm sure next time we are passing through. This restaurant is open on Sundays which says a lot for a small town where most places are closed or have limited hours of operation. The last thing I would like to share is that the "Medium Size Pizza" we ordered was enough for two. We actually had 3 slices left over.
Fantastically flavorful food! If you are nearby and want italian, you won't find any better italian for 100 miles in any direction. Great sauce, great pasta, great drinks. 10/10
This place is on road side in Globe , we stopped by for lunch and thankfully we received very good all home made food.. the bread was itchy on throat but lobster ravioli , salad was too good.. we got chicken noodle soup too it could have been better . Over all good stop if you are traveling to Pinetop from Phoenix
Quick stop from road trip, not disappointed.. got in & out pretty quickly. Rolls were really good & leftovers were even good after reheating & that balsamic dressing was amazing
Great place, excellent food! We traveled up from Mesa, and the food at De Marcos restaurant was excellent. We had their 12 inch meat lovers Pizza and it definitely had tons of pepperoni and sausage. We also ordered their chicken Primavera, and it was light and fresh and the vegetables were bathed in garlic and olive oil. We also had their battered Cod meal and it was excellent. The staff here were friendly and welcoming. For dessert we had their old school Thrifty brand ice cream and it was a blast from the past!
I walked into this place after years of driving by and I realized after eating that I have been missing out on some of the best Italian food I hadn't had in years. Ate the shrimp scampi and took home the lasagna fir later. This is really good.
